For English please scroll down

Snow white pound cake – recipe in English
Reminiscent of the days when my mom had little access to eggs, sugar and flour, and had to manage somehow: I hate to waste ingredients, food … the egg whites concerned me, because there is a lot of them left (especially after making the mayonnaise or tiramisu ) so the I had to find a solution for them … making meringue is not my best skill (although I really like it), so the solution that I found is this egg whites pound cake (my  mother’s recipe, in the ” green notebook “, which she has inherited from her mother)

Ingredients (my cup holds 250ml):
1 cup egg whites (I had 5 or 6 egg whites)
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup mixture of chopped walnuts + chocolate pieces ( Kinder ) + candied orange peel or any thing you like
50 gr oil or melted butter
juice and zest of one lemon

1. Beat egg whites until stiff, then add the sugar little by little and beat until you get a shiny, smooth foam.
2. Add the flour (also little by little) , then the rest of the ingredients, and mix well.
3. Bake in a form greased with butter and dusted with flour, for 40 minutes, at 180 degrees.
4. I topped it with a glaze made of chocolate (a 100g table) melted with 2-3 tablespoons of milk ( in a double-boiler until the chocolate melts and you can pour it).
