cuiburi de viespi (also in English)

cuib de viespi (14)

For recipe in English, please scroll down.

WASP NESTS, RECIPE IN ENGLISH

Actually, this is not a new recipe, it is another variation on cinnamon rolls dough, which is extremely versatile.

That is, if you make a dough using 600 g whole wheat, from it you can have both cinnamon rolls, and wasps nest, and baked donuts with jam. And you may also freeze some for any unexpected guests some day.

So, the dough is made as I have described in this post  (Repeat all steps until rolling out the dough after the first rise)

I used only a half of the dough for the wasp nests, the rest I turned into some baked donuts.

For the filling (again, for half of the dough, which is 300g of flour):

50 g butter

50 g sugar

100 g ground nuts

1. Cream the  butter with sugar to create a paste that spreads easily

2. The paste  obtained is spread over the rolled out dough

3. Sprinkle coarsley ground walnuts all over the dough  and roll

4. Cut slices of 1-2 cm out of the roll

5. The rolls are placed 2 cm apart in a baking pan and let  rise in warm place (covered with a towel) for another 30 minutes.

I’ve frozen some of the rolls at this point. When you defrost them,  resume the process exactly where you’ve left it  ( let them thaw and in the refrigerator and then let rise 30 minutes in a warm place).

6. Brush with egg yolk mixed with milk and bake at 200 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
