prajitura de ciocolata cu bile de branza si cocos (also in English)

For English, please scroll down.

Cand untul s-a topit adaugam ciocolata rupta in bucati.

9. Amestecam pana la omogenizarea ciocolatei

coconut balls chocolate cake (52)

Chocolate cake with coconut-ricotta balls (recipe in English)
A spectacular cake that has waited too long for its turn to appear here. It is a recipe that has been around for some time, I got it here , and I only changed the type of cheese (I used ricotta instead of cottage cheese – as you know, ricotta is one of my favorite ingredients) .

Ricotta and coconut balls :

250 g ricotta / quark/ fresh cheese
50 g coconut flakes
50 g sugar
2 yolks
2 tablespoons of starch

Chocolate Sponge :

4 eggs
Pinch of salt
60 g sugar
50 g dark chocolate
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons starch
3 tablespoons cocoa
one teaspoon baking powder

Chocolate Glaze :
120 ml of milk
50 g sugar
25 g butter
100 g dark chocolate

Cheese balls :

1. Using a hand mixer mix all ingredients together
2. Form balls the size of a walnut , and place them in a springform tin (I used a 24 cm one), lined with baking paper

Chocolate Sponge :

3. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over steam (a double boiler) – (melt 60 g instead of 50g, not to waste any chocolate in the process)
4. Mix the eggs with pinch of salt and sugar, until sugar melts and the composition is bubbly and double in volume .
5. Add melted chocolate, flour, starch, baking powder and cocoa.
6. Carefully pour over the cheese balls in the springform.
7. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 25-30 minutes ( toothpick test !) .
Chocolate Glaze :

8. In a saucepan heat milk, sugar and butter. When the butter has melted, add the chocolate broken into pieces.
9. Stir until smooth.
10 . Pour over cake in tin and wait for it to cool down πŸ™‚ ( if glaze is too fluid, let it cool slightly before pouring it over the cake )

And there you have it !

    Minunat ti-a iesit prajiturica ! πŸ™‚

  2. This looks great! I need to make it!

  3. The cake was nice and I loved it, although I did the chocolate sauce wrong. Put all ingredients at once and it was very liquidy and didn’t set. I used it as a sauce. I also baked for 35 minutes (tested with the toothpick), so my cottage cheese balls got little golden brown (yours was white) πŸ™‚ Soon I’ll write a post about this cake to my readers also. Thanks for the recipe. I have some other recipes to try from your blog (two already in mind)!
